A glorious 2019 for Lionel Messi as he wins big In La Liga award gala despite absentism

Lionel Messi bought into being another history once again as he was the main winner at the 2019 La Liga awards gala, despite absenting in the ceremony.
The FC Barcelona striker bounced home with the Pichichi award for the best goalscorer of the 2018/19 campaign, and was also named the best player of the season.
It was his sixth Pichichi prize after scoring 36 goals last season, while he was also named the best player for a sixth time.
Though, did not attend the gala, Lionel Messi did send a word of thanks via a video message.

In the coaching domain, the accolade for the Coach of the Season was shared between Getafe’s Jose Bordalas and Granada’s Diego Martinez.
