Ghanaian actress Akuapem Poloo was arrested for her controversial photo with her seven-year-old son.
The arrest comes days after Child Rights International asked the Ghanaian police’s inspector general to investigate the photo that went viral on social media.
Akuapem Poloo had decided to go completely naked in a photo shoot with her son to celebrate his 7th birthday. The young actress explains that she did this because she gave birth to her naked son.
“My son today, you remind me of the day I gave birth to you; without stress and without regret… .. June 30, 2013 exactly at 4:46 am Sunday. I still remember this date not because it is really important to me, I only felt pain for 30 minutes and it was when you were shooting to go out. You were so nice to me. I gave birth without complications, without cuts or difficulties. I love you my son. You see how you look at me, always remember that I love you. I’m naked in front of you because that’s how I gave birth to you, so in case you find me naked lying somewhere, you shouldn’t be ashamed but see me more like your mom who brought you given life, ”she wrote.
According to Ghanaian media, Akuapem Poloo was arrested by officers from the Department of Criminal Investigation (CID) and transferred to the headquarters of the support unit for victims of domestic violence in Accra.
