The fisherman’s Dairy– the movie shot and produced entirely in Cameroon, has been announced as Cameroon’s official selection into the 93rd annual Oscar Awards and has recently concluded a deal to be broadcast on streaming service Netflix.

Global streaming giant, Netflix, has announced its exclusive licensing of the award-winning dram, The Fisherman’s Dairy. The announcement makes the film, Cameroon’s first to secure an exclusive deal with the platform, with a release date soon to be announced.

These accomplishments come shortly after The Fisherman’s Dairy secured eight Awards at the-recently concluded Golden Movie Awards Africa (GMAA) in Ghana, and nine nominations at the Africa movie Academy Wards (AMAA) in Nigeria.

Speaking about the development, the executive producer of the film, Kang Quintus, excitedly explains, “We are happy to have made history with this film. For us, aside from being a good reward for hard work, this deal grants the opportunity for our content to reach a global audience. Hopefully, this would be the first amongst many, not just for myself and the team, but for other Cameroonian filmmakers.”
