Miss Julia Samantha Edima succeeds Nabila Monkam, Miss Cameroon 2020 – 2021. The ceremony was held on the night of January 7 to 8, 2022 at the Polyvalent Sports Palace in Yaoundé.

The 15th edition of the Miss Cameroon election emptied its dispute on January 7 with the crowning of the actress who featured in Madame Monsieur Tv series of Muriel Blanche.

Julia Samantha Edima Assoumou represented the southern region in this competition. She is a 26-year-old actress, holder of a master’s degree in corporate communication, Miss South 2021 and Miss Cameroon 2022.

Biography of Julia Samantha Edima, Miss Cameroon 2022

Born on February 1, 1995 in Meyo-center in the South Cameroon region, Julia Samantha went to Germany at the age of 5 where she did her primary studies until CM1 class in the city of Offenbach (Buchügel) before returning to the country a few years later and continuing her studies.

After obtaining her Baccalaureate in 2015, she enrolled at the University of Douala where she graduated with a Bachelors in Communication, specializing in corporate communication.

She entered a beauty pageant for the first time, Miss Orangina, which she won. From then she has been doing video acting, adverts etc.

Having a passion since childhood for comedy and cinema, Samantha met a lady called Cynthia Elisabeth Ngono who motivated, supervised and pushed her to enter the world of cinema.

She then proceeded to castings on castings before signing with the audiovisual production and promotion house BLACK FILMS in 2018. We discovered her for the very first time on the small screen in the feature film FANTASMA, then in TRAUMA, another feature film produced by the BLACK FILMS house, which even won the award for best Cameroonian feature film in 2019 at the BLACK SCREENS Festival.

Thanks to her two films, Julia Samantha’s address book and career really took off, and through her talent and her performances she became the new rising star of cinema in Cameroon.
